Stellaluna - Janell Cannon A story that is a hit with both adults and kids! The illustrations are beautiful and the overall theme of understanding and appreciating differences in others (even your family and friends) is one that the whole family likes.

Stellaluna wants to fit in with her friends - something that everyone experiences at one time or another. Her story illustrates how differences can sometimes make doing activities with others more challenging but that, in the end, your friends will accept you for who you are.

The last two pages of the book are filled with scientific facts on bats. Even though it's not part of the story, my daughter insists that I read it, too, whenever we read Stellaluna together.
