The Brief History of the Dead - Kevin Brockmeier I really enjoyed reading this book.

Yes, the concept is simple and the ending predictable. But the writing style and characters make you want to keep reading. I found that I kept picking up the book when I had a few minutes to spare.

No, it does not answer any "big" questions such as "Is there a God? or "Are there gods" or "What happens to people once they are remembered by no one?" This might bother some people who are looking for a more "complete" novel, but I think that the story functions well without trying to wrap up questions that its situations lead one to ask.

Overall, it was a quick, engaging & fun read.
