The Lambs of London - Peter Ackroyd Very refreshing for a historical novel, as 1)it doesn't bog you down with details of how many petticoats so-and-so is wearing and how many stitches are in someone's lace, and 2)it's a short, quick read. You can sense around halfway through the story how everything is going to end, but it's an enjoyable read despite that.
